In this lesson, we will talk about the self scan script. This script is present in Model 28, and through this script, the following can be done:


1- Repair the bad sector found in the hdd in all its forms.


2- Perform a factory reset of the hdd.


3- Through it, you can create a new p list (Rebuild p list).


4- Through it, you can create a new T list (Rebuild T list).


Self scan is considered a hdd maintenance process and not a data recovery process


When you perform a self-scan on the hdd, the data is permanently erased from the hdd and cannot be recovered in any other way.




Summary of the self scan process


SelfScan collects all the damaged padsectors and damaged tracks and adds them to the SelfScan log modules in preparation
for rearranging them and creating a new p-list from them containing all the damaged padsectors.


Also create a new T list containing all the damaged tracks.
